This is the 44th Boston Seafood Exhibition, attracting over 22,000 seafood professionals from around the world, with 1,300 exhibitors from 50 countries.
Holding the exhibition at the beginning of the year not only kicks off new business deals but also allows businesses to assess market trends through in-depth seminars focusing on areas of interest to the seafood industry in the US and globally, creating an exciting platform for those interested in the seafood sector. The exhibition also features food demonstrations by seafood brands launching new product lines focused on convenience and consumer health.
Due to increased demand from businesses to participate in the 2026 North American Seafood Exhibition, the Vietnam Association of Seafood Processing and Export (VASEP) has registered for an additional booth, 313, with an area of 800 square feet, to serve as a shared exhibition area, in addition to the traditional booth 1033, which is 1600 square feet for private exhibition. This is the second year that VASEP has maintained booth 313 for businesses participating in the shared exhibition area, hoping that this will become the traditional location of the Vietnamese national pavilion at the North American Seafood Exhibition, alongside booth 1033, which has been held for a long time. In 2026, 21 companies will participate in the Vietnamese national pavilion area, including 9 pangasius processing and exporting companies, 3 shrimp processing and exporting companies, 2 tuna processing and exporting companies, and 7 companies processing and exporting other seafood products. The leading exporters to the US market were all present at the exhibition, alongside companies participating for the first time, demonstrating the strong appeal of the US market to businesses.
In 2025, Vietnam's seafood exports to the US are projected to reach US$1.91 billion, a 4.9% increase compared to 2024. This represents a moderate increase given the volatile market conditions, including competition, divergent purchasing power, and especially regulatory compliance factors.
The North American Seafood Exhibition (NSA) is a crucial opportunity for businesses to understand and update their strategies to maintain and develop the US market. This is a traditional exhibition where Vietnamese seafood has consistently participated since the early days of its export market development. Even during periods of market downturn in the US, maintaining the Vietnamese national pavilion at the NSA remains a priority for the Association, as this is a price-oriented market, and Vietnam needs to participate to affirm its position as one of the world's leading seafood suppliers.
In January 2026, exports to the US reached a value of US$128.412 million, an increase of 20.2% compared to the same period in 2025. Of this, shrimp accounted for US$43.8 million, an increase of 22%; pangasius reached US$19.7 million, an increase of 12.8%; and tuna reached US$24.4 million, a decrease of 5.7%.
The Association used the slogan “Vietnam – A Sustainable Destination for Seafood,” affirming the industry's development towards a sustainable seafood production, processing, and export sector that complies with the requirements of Vietnam and importing markets, in a period when all countries are moving towards a green economy and sustainable fishing practices.
Looking at the Vietnamese products on display, it's clear that high-value-added goods are a strength of Vietnam compared to other countries in the Asian region. The fierce price competition for traditional products has accelerated Vietnam's shift towards high-value-added production in recent years. Businesses that shift early will reap many opportunities during these challenging years.
VASEP – the organizer of this exhibition – provided updated information on the industry and future development trends of Vietnam's seafood sector to interested customers. Publications introducing the industry and businesses were provided to customers, helping them understand the products and enabling those exporting companies that did not have the opportunity to attend the exhibition to learn more.
This year, the Vietnamese national pavilion at the North American Seafood Exhibition 2026 was honored to welcome representatives from the Vietnamese Embassy in the United States. The coordination and support of the Embassy, the Vietnamese Commercial Counselor in the US, and the Vietnam Trade Promotion Office in New York have always been highly appreciated by the Association and businesses at annual exhibitions. The support of government agencies will be a driving force for the development of businesses in particular and the Vietnamese seafood industry in general – a key economic sector contributing to the country's development.
